show me miracles

show me your soul, i'll show you mine
had a long talk with a very good friend
we were walkin down by the water again
he tried to help me make some sense of some miraculous misunderstandings

merry christmas? that's alright okay, but let's get the date straight,
noon 7 b.c. 21 august, the stars are in the same exact place that he left them
and they don't lie, quite a conjunction, jupiter, saturn, 3 times that year
he was 3 weeks old before 3 wise men showed, and they got directions

almost an accident, the wine at the wedding, he learned quite a bit about his
father's bidding and the art of divine control
but that's not how he made the wine, it was a bend and a wiggle of time
and that doesn't qualify as a miracle in his mind
and all those fishermen wouldn't believe it was an honest trick
turns out he just knew the perfect place to fish

and no one more surprised than jesus as 600 miracle minded people
were healed in one sweet moment earth time

show me your soul, i'll show you mine
no it's not a magic show, he's here to flesh out your soul

and the man with the withered hand was slap of sense intended to upset the uptight
besides, it converted half of their spies
some apostles, mountain bound believed crossing galilee, he stoppped a storm
but when violently hot air hits cold seems done before it starts
their lunatic, unpossessed with a half-baked faith sort of cured himself
just when a pack of dogs drove those pigs off a cliff it happens you know
though even the madman wouldn't believe it, the rest of his life he worked for jesus
and that town kicked jesus out on account of their swine

show me your soul, i'll show you mine...
yeah he fed them all with loaves and fishes as the only peacelful option
and grieved the misunderstanding, and that walk on the water,
a dream or a vision, he told that to peter but didn't convince him
then the beggar who never asked was blindly healed
then his very own friend was even amazed as the only human ever raised
there jesus cried, we wonder why (love, pity, mercy, love)

show me your soul, i'll show you mine...

it will come back

we sit starin', not even carin' if we find there's nothin' to do
later on, if we still can't find it, then babe, we'll do that too

we make some love and set it free, it will come back to me
it will come back to you, just what we thought it would do

all the money's gone, too bad that love won't pay the rent, they both come so fast
all we have is each other, all we want is all we have

shot

first time i saw you, took us both a shot
a small hole for our souls to fall in
everything was perfect no matter how bad it got
but it can't get much worse than this, and i'm not feelin' so

now every time i need you, this big empty hole
this huge black pit just keeps drowning me in
and nothing seems alright no matter how good it could get
and i know i will always try to reach you somewhere through

see you in the heavens
meet you in the heavens

taste of life

there i was minding my own busyness, it was just another stack of cliches
nothing gone right, nothing gone wrong, everything just about goin' on, in every way

same old lines in the same old town, watchin' what's up go down, with every one around
then i take a chance, pull my head from my hands
and ask is this the best i have to give, is it all laid out?

and then i realize, it's just the taste of life in my mind
it comes as no surprise, just the taste of life in my mind

you know sometimes it's just the taste of life

now here comes the day, a really big day
i have worked, sweated, cried and prayed, to make this play
this time only faith will tell how things turn out
it could make me up, or break me down

so i hold my breath, cross my fingers and heart
take this dive, stayed alive so far
and in the end, lose, win, full, empty, it's all the same
it tempts me to believe that all of this exists

that's when i realize you left the taste of life in my mind
it comes as no surprise, just the taste of life in my mind
you know sometimes it's just the taste of life

forecast

the forecast is for miracles and scattered visions

it's coming from everywhere and some may be severe
just an ordinary miracle tonight
just another ordinary miracle revealed tonight

doesn't matter

so glad you took the time, to ask him which is better
to be dead or alive, and he said it doesn't matter

left guy right guy, fightin' at the gate over who gets in, nobody wins
peter says no no no, it's not that simple
cause it's not what you believe but how and why
so you're both going back for another try

so glad you took the time to ask him which is better
to be dead or alive, and he says it doesn't matter
so why not just kill yourself, you had to wonder
and again he says it's just because it doesn't matter
and again he says, why bother if it doesn't matter?

christian and muslim in a heated debate, not who is good, but who is great
st. peter says unh unh unh, it's not that simple
cause it's not what you believe but how and why
so you're both going back for another try

don't you think it's best, since you asked him which is better
between life and death, and he says it doesn't matter
so why not just kill yourself, you had to wonder
and again he says it's just because it doesn't matter
and again he says, why bother if it doesn't matter?

dead weight

never got what you wanted, couldn't save a buck
never got connected, no such luck
lame expectations, endless settling dust
the money walks right by, but you don't give up

how you gonna save the world if you can't save yours
such a risky planet to try and correlate
you can bring the mountains to the masses
it's just more dead weight

expertly managed victim of the fair
you can save the planet but they don't care
social mental maverick too much too late
ten times the average, just more dead weight

now you're old and bald, lots of time to recall
world didn't need saving at all, just you

amazing dance

it's amazing the way there's a message in the way the rhythms all get along
one thing after another together we play until we all become the song

amazing dance, the beat is ours
thinking about moving without thinking about dancing around
the beat is our amazing dance

it's amazing the things a simple thought can bring off guard to a stretching mind
almost something for nothing, a natural motion we didn't even have to try

tornado cool

so you want a new revolution, distant passionate ideas
it's a movement not just fashion, like a tornado, tornado cool
secret recognition, instant flashable ID, and wear your first amendment
nothing to hide, so much to say

tornado cool

seperatists unite, common cool believing
like a virus of the mind, like a tornado, tornado cool

shred it up, put it on tonight, chop it off, freak it out alright
make it big, really let it fly, cause you know it's alright

snuggled deep in your revolution, you got the whole movie memorized
it wears you well
tornado cool

zero value

i was runnin in the rain, you were walkin'
hand in hand with some guy i never knew, but you stopped me anyway
even though i tried to run on by

sometimes i think about all the times you said that we'd be friends
no matter what, now every time i think of that
well it may be sad but it makes me laugh

some new friends and professor ali
helped make you think you made the grade
that strange explanation that lets you blame it all on change
all life long you'll think it's true
but did you ever dream those dreams about me were about you?
situation zero value
estimation zero value

did you ever find that house that you needed to make you happy?
i bet you met someone who likes to go to bed at exactly the same time every night
heard you got your degree, but it never got you
tried trading it in but the book said zero value

and now the years have passed
and you're still runnin' as far and fast away as you think you can
well best of all the luck to you, holding on to those you'll never know

so suffice it to say that i've figured it out and it's worthless to you
you've got nothing to say and that's how it is now and it sums up zero

out of the dark

i fall on bended knee, i pray you're listening
i know my chosen blindness is plain to see

lord, i fell in so far, i got lost so hard, please help me out of the dark
i can't find my heart, guess i'm not so smart, please help me out of the dark

thought i had it all sewn up
fixed so it could never happen
looks like all i got was stuck
fallin' for the same trick over and over again
